SF3015HM 12kW Fiber Laser Plate & Tube Integrated Machine Installation and Training in the USA

SENFENG successfully completed the on-site installation, commissioning, and operator training of a new SF3015HM 12kW fiber laser cutting system in the United States. The project was carried out by after-sales engineer Mr. Zhai, who provided full technical support including mechanical assembly, electrical connection, system calibration, process optimization, and operator guidance.

3015HM customer

The SF3015HM is a high-performance plate and tube integrated laser cutting system designed for efficient multi-material processing. The installation process progressed smoothly through staged assembly, system integration, and process validation, ensuring stable operation and precise cutting performance for both sheet and tube applications.

Equipment Placement and Mechanical Installation

June 8, 2026

At the initial stage, major system components—including the laser source, water chiller, air compressor, dust removal system, transformer, and voltage stabilizer—were unpacked and positioned according to installation layout requirements.

The mechanical structure of the machine was then arranged, and most of the electrical wiring connections were completed to approximately 90%, preparing the system for power-on testing in the next phase.

Electrical Connection and Initial Power-On Testing

June 9, 2026

After completing final electrical checks, the system was powered on successfully. All motion axes were tested, including functional verification of auxiliary systems such as the air compressor and dust extraction unit.

The machine demonstrated stable startup performance, and all subsystems responded normally during initial operation checks.

Mechanical Alignment and Tube-Sheet Integration Calibration

June 10, 2026

All protective sheet-metal covers and machine enclosures were installed to complete the mechanical structure.

The tube cutting unit was then adjusted for position alignment and parallel accuracy with the sheet cutting platform. During calibration, additional communication and control cable connections were established between the plate and tube modules, ensuring synchronized operation and accurate system coordination.

Basic cutting trials were conducted on 0.25 in carbon steel using oxygen and air assist gas, confirming stable cutting conditions and consistent edge quality.

Process Parameter Optimization and Tube Cutting Calibration

June 11, 2026

Comprehensive cutting parameter optimization was performed for multiple material thicknesses of carbon steel plate, including:
0.125 in, 0.1875 in, 0.25 in, 0.375 in, 0.5 in, 0.75 in, and 1 in using oxygen-assisted cutting.

Air cutting parameters were also tuned for thinner sheets (0.125 in, 0.1875 in, 0.25 in), ensuring balanced cutting efficiency and edge quality.

For tube processing, calibration covered both square and round profiles:

  • Square tube: 4 × 4 in, wall thickness 0.19–0.235 in (air & oxygen cutting)
  • Round tube:
  • Ø1.05 in × 0.12 in (air cutting)
  • Ø2 in × 0.157 in (air & oxygen cutting)
  • Ø4 in × 0.25 in (air & oxygen cutting)

The system also supported key operational training functions, including B-axis center calibration, automatic centering before processing, and real-time centering adjustment during cutting operations.

In addition, workflow and control system differences between legacy and upgraded CNC platforms were introduced, helping operators become familiar with updated interface logic and commonly used functions.

Batch Cutting Verification and Stability Confirmation

June 12, 2026

Final production verification was completed through continuous batch cutting of 0.75 in and 1 in carbon steel plates.

The SF3015HM machine demonstrated stable operation throughout extended processing, with consistent cutting performance and smooth production workflow. The final results confirmed reliable machine performance for heavy-duty fabrication applications.

Conclusion

The installation and commissioning of the SF3015HM 12kW plate and tube integrated fiber laser cutting system were completed successfully in a structured and efficient workflow.

From mechanical setup and electrical integration to parameter optimization and production validation, the system was fully prepared for industrial use, delivering stable performance for both sheet and tube processing applications.
