SF6024NT

SF6024NT 6kW Laser Tube Cutting Machine Installation in the USA

SENFENG recently completed the installation and operator training of a new SF6024NT 6kW laser tube cutting machine in the United States. The installation process included mechanical assembly, electrical integration, calibration, commissioning, and training of operators, ensuring the machine achieved stable operation and optimal performance.

Initial Testing and Frame Assembly

May 1-2, 2026

The process began with testing the existing setup to verify continuous feeding operations. Following successful tests, the SF6024NT machine was installed. The initial stage focused on assembling and leveling the machine bed, installing the operation console, reconnecting previously removed guide rails and racks, and positioning the feeding system. Adjustments were made to align the bed accurately before installing the sheet metal panels to restore the machine’s exterior.

Z-Axis Installation and Fiber Routing

May 2-4, 2026

The next steps included installing the Z-axis module, routing the fiber cable, and securing the cutting head. Associated pipelines and wiring were connected to integrate the laser and machine functions.

Electrical Wiring and Signal Integration

May 5-6, 2026

The electrical wiring for the feeding device and tube cutting interactions was organized and connected. Signal mapping between the machine and the feeding system was carefully defined, ensuring smooth communication for operations such as material feeding, end-of-feed confirmation, and safety interlocks. Preliminary power-on testing confirmed proper servo drive activation, functioning of the water-cooling system, and correct wiring of emergency stop circuits.

Power-On Testing and Axis Calibration

May 6-8, 2026

After resolving minor display and connector issues, the machine was powered on for full testing. All axes were calibrated, including home position verification and travel adjustments for the seven-axis configuration. Protective measures for the feeding support and avoidance axes were implemented to prevent interference. Subsequent trials included simulating short and long tube feeding, confirming the correct operation of the avoidance and material handling systems.

Feeding System Optimization and Operator Training

May 11-15, 2026

The feeding device was fine-tuned to ensure accurate material positioning for various tube lengths. Adjustments were made to the feeding arm and push plates to maintain smooth continuous feeding, avoiding collisions and misalignment. Operator training covered proper handling of the three-jaw chucks, part merging, and micro-connection for pseudo-cut lines. Operators practiced loading and cutting tubes of different sizes to achieve consistent results.

Final Testing and Operational Handover

May 12-19, 2026

Final tests were conducted with 3–6 meter tubes, verifying smooth continuous feeding, cutting precision, and avoidance movements. Routine maintenance procedures were demonstrated, including nozzle replacement, ceramic ring and protective lens care, air compressor filter inspection, and lubrication. Operators completed practice sessions covering setup, feeding, cutting, and material handling workflows. The project concluded with successful operational verification and handover, ensuring the SF6024NT was ready for productive use.
